behind the scenes

R.A.W: Behind the Scenes...

Earlier this year, I got to tag alongside my friends at Early Light Media (ELM), documenting the action behind the scenes for their upcoming passion project R.A.W.

I tend to overshare on the image front, but what can I say?….I love doing this work.

As you scroll thru, one thing will become abundantly clear. Tons of smiles. I’m not the only one enjoying what I do. The guys at ELM are passionate creatives and they make everyone on and off set feel like family. I love that about them. I also think they produce a kick ass final product.

Please check out the trailer for their documentary (HERE) and while there’s time left in their funding campaign (7 days)…I hope you’ll consider donating.

In a world full of motion, there's still something pretty special (for me) about still photography. You see what I did there? :)  When I find myself behind the scenes...I pinch myself.  I love seeing the creative process come together.

This time around, DC United partnered with Early Light Media to film a spot to announce the acquisition of Wayne Rooney.  Having worked together in the past, I was fortunate to get the call to document the action.

Here are a few from my vantage point...

And here's a look at the final piece.

Spare Rooms...

Yesterday was one of those days that I felt extremely lucky.

There’s a great short film in the works called Spare Rooms.  It’s being directed by Matt Bowden…and it tells the story of a same-sex couple’s plans to appear in the closet, and the weight it bears on their son.

I was able to be a fly-on-the wall during a fitting and hair/make-up consult….and just do what I do.  I love that sort of freedom.  I love that sort of trust.  Thanks Matt!

It was great to catch up with David Morley of Zinnia Films – just being around this guy makes me smile inside and out.  He captured Sara and I’s weddings in Utica and Baltimore, so he holds a special place in our family’s collective heart.

Please check out the Spare Rooms website when you’re able…and jump out on their Facebook page and give it a like to keep up to date.  Good good schtuff is on the horizon…
