R.A.W: Behind the Scenes...

Earlier this year, I got to tag alongside my friends at Early Light Media (ELM), documenting the action behind the scenes for their upcoming passion project R.A.W.

I tend to overshare on the image front, but what can I say?….I love doing this work.

As you scroll thru, one thing will become abundantly clear. Tons of smiles. I’m not the only one enjoying what I do. The guys at ELM are passionate creatives and they make everyone on and off set feel like family. I love that about them. I also think they produce a kick ass final product.

Please check out the trailer for their documentary (HERE) and while there’s time left in their funding campaign (7 days)…I hope you’ll consider donating.

The Family Staple...

There are so many options in and around Baltimore for ice cream. Hands down, we’re a Prigel Family Creamery family. They’ve got a small stand at Belvedere Square but I love taking the drive out to the farm, looking for deer along the way... and hopefully (like in this case) coming home with a few sleeping kiddos.

Facing my biggest fear...

Public speaking.

It's probably the scariest thing I can imagine.

My heart pounds just thinking about it.

If I can help it, I avoid the spotlight at all costs.

I find comfort behind the camera...

...but I've come to realize that in order to grow I need to step out from behind it from time to time.

In order for anything to change in my life, I've got to do something different.

So with that in mind...

On Saturday afternoon I attended the Stoop Storytelling Workshop at The BIG Theater.

For anyone that knows me well, on a typical St Patrick's Day you'll find me nestled in a pub...so doing this was huge.

Out of approximately 36 attendees, I was the only male.

As anxious as I was walking in, by the time I left, I was comfortable and really glad that I went.

Telling stories to strangers is a truly vulnerable, yet rewarding experience.

Stories connect us.

Teller.

Listener.

Human interaction at the most basic level.

No apps.

No devices.

Truly powerful schtuff.

Something I need more of.

Something I need to be brave enough to do again.

Face my fear.

Shine my light.
