The Wild Side...

That morning he headed out just before 5,
Without a gadget tracking him (or an app to app in),
A walk on the wild side.

And what the data couldn't show you,
Because there was none to see,
Is that life embraced him, ever so comfortably.

Filling his ears with song
And his eyes with sights.
Allowing his feet to find their rhythm
And his heart to beat just right.

It was glorious and simple.
It lived right outside his door.
So that morning he made a promise
To be a stranger no more.

Maine Sand...

Maine Sand.

It’s one of a few things Ollie has gathered from places that mean a lot to us. He plans to give it to Mady before she heads off for college on August 22nd.

As much as they bicker.

As much as he says he can’t wait for her to go.

This :)

When I saw it sitting on the kitchen counter, I smiled a teary smile.

Ready or not, here we are.

What if?

What if we were happy right where we are?

No more.
No less

What if we took stock of the good fortune in our everyday?

Who and what we’re surrounded by.

How might that change the next chapter of our story?

To be content is within our means.
To be content is within us.

What if’ channels feelings of hope and possibility. It gives me permission to course correct and trust me when I say I’ve had my fair share of adjustments. It makes me realize that no matter what happened before, no matter how good or bad...here I am now -- the culmination of so many things, experiences and interactions....and still becoming. Still unfolding. Still with the opportunity to make the mark that only I can make.

On November 10, 2019, tired of the same ole same ole, I wondered What if I gave up drinking alcohol? It marked a turning point in my life and for everyone around me.

On the anniversary of my 3rd year of sobriety, I shared my story on LinkedIn HERE.

My offer then remains intact.  If you ever need someone’s ear or a shoulder to lean on…I’m here.
