I took the boys fishing yesterday.
I’m not much of a fisherman…but I know enough to get by.
We found a perfect little spot that we’ve been driving by for years.
I was the official bait man, putting the worms on their hooks.
They took care of the rest.
I got to sit back and soak in the scene.
The two of them, excited.
Grinning from ear to ear.
And the fish came.
Little spots.
To see their faces light up the way they did was everything.
We stayed there for hours.
Catch. Release.
Catch. Release.
Who knew that a 30 pack of worms was going to last so long?
We left talking about doing it again later in the week.
My heart.
Happy.

Late morning...
Sign of a good day...
One hazy morning in Maine...
One hazy morning in Maine.
Low tide underway.
First ones out.
Me, following their footprints.

Georgetown, ME
Our lives would never be the same...
I’ll never forget the day.
That morning a life of crime took shape.
The perfect disguise.
A pink mesh bag.
Once holding Vietnamese noodles.
Now gripping our innocent son’s face in its evil grasp.
He didn’t stand a chance.
His mother…the culprit.
Our lives would never be the same.
