That morning out walking the dogs, he made his way slowly along hand carved paths, taking extra care not to slip and fall. He couldn't afford to be injured. The air hung in place. It pressed on his face and hurt when he inhaled. He never felt more alive and appreciative of the warm home awaiting them.
