I told him I wrote about him.
He said he wanted to see.
I showed him.
I watched him read it.
He smiled.
He looked up.
He said ‘Thank you’
HE thanked ME.
I said ‘Buddy, it was ALL you’.
He smiled again.
We left it there.
There’s good in this world…
There's good in this world...
This morning...
He leaned in as we walked to the car.
Buried his head under my right arm.
'I love you Dad'
‘I love you too’
We drove to school.
My phone scrolling IDLES lyrics.
Us, singing together...
...as we do more days than not.
He touched my arm at one point and smiled.
There's good in this world...
...and a tear in my eye
Siblings...
Me to their mom...
'You can see the affection between the kids growing...as they do as well. I love this for them (and you) down the road'
Success...
Sunday.
Me, to them…
‘THIS is what success looks like at this stage in your life. Soak it in’ :)
Wednesday...
A morning where I just wanted to go back to sleep.
But there was Finn’s familiar bark, announcing a guest in the neighbor’s yard.
And who am I not to say hello?
I walked outside…
…my eyes met with glowing eyes off in the distance
…blinking every now and again.
I stood there.
Maybe 20 or 30 minutes.
The fox curled up.
Watching.
Curious.
Comfortable.
Nowhere to be.
But there.
For now.
Under a sky full of stars.
And it was more than enough.
