The last stop before bed.
The last of our kids still doing this.
The thought of there being a last time fresh in my mind.
New rhythms find us.
Eventually.
But not yet.
For now, it’s a favorite record on repeat.
One you’ll never pry from my heart.

Hold on...
Sometimes holding on is all that we can do.
#theeverydayiseverything
The road we're on...
The road we're on.
Sometimes we take it.
Sometimes it takes us.
Always with the possibility of something new along that next bend.

All seems too quick...
Fom my journal this morning...
School year is winding down.
Summer beckons.
All seems so quick.
This is life's way.
Especially when we're in the thick of it.
We turn the pages faster.
Hooked on events and happenings that pull us and our attention forward.
Together.
What a joy it's been of late.
Too many smiles to count.
Happy tears along for the ride.
Ducking and weaving and rolling with the punches.
Loving as we go.

Back to the simple things...
Back to the simple things...
Wednesday - 5/3/23 - 5:35AM
First bird chirp this morning at 4:57AM.
I noticed for whatever reason and noted the time.
Meditated on 'the everyday is everything' and for the longest time I couldn't 'see' it.
My mind bouncing around from one thing to the next.
Unable to focus.
Before I knew it, the timer was going off.
I look forward to carving out the time now and I'm already feeling like I need to go longer.
The alarm startles me when it goes off...so it's really taking me somewhere.
Right now it's showing me how scattered and varied my thoughts are.
With practice, I feel like I can get better.
Yesterday was another cool day in the 50s.
Some light rain
Grey.
I'm ready for warmer, sunnier weather.
I'm ready for Maine...which reminds me that Maine popped up in my thoughts during meditation.
Nothing specific - just the feeling of being there in the living room.
Windows open.
Hearing the waves.
Breathing the air in.
Maybe holding a rock in my hand helped.
I'm finding comfort in that.
I've rubbed the smaller one enough that you can see how I've shaped it...which amazes me.
With a little effort, over time...the things we can do.
'Be like water' comes to mind.
The birds are in full chorus outside now.
Mady's 1st alarm (of many) has gone off, followed by a quick snooze.
The day is getting underway.
I'm enjoying being here, writing, again.
Something about seeing my scrawling on the page that lifts me up.
