Black Lives Matter...
Our kids are bi-racial.
They see color.
They’re asking questions and we’re doing our best to answer them.
We’re watching movies.
We’re discussing the news.
We’re standing in solidarity in protests.
As a white man, I’m increasingly aware of my privilege at every turn.
It’s something I can’t unsee.
I’ve walked thru life with a hall pass.
Free to roam.
No questions asked.
No looks thrown my way.
No threat to my person.
While I’ve strived to become the best person that I can be…
…I’ve done that in a vacuum of self,
…insulated in a protective covering that I was given at birth.
I must relentlessly educate myself.
Listen.
Advocate.
….and continue to use my voice, camera, dollars and every fiber of my being to ensure that Black Lives Matter.
