R.A.W: Behind the Scenes...

Earlier this year, I got to tag alongside my friends at Early Light Media (ELM), documenting the action behind the scenes for their upcoming passion project R.A.W.

I tend to overshare on the image front, but what can I say?….I love doing this work.

As you scroll thru, one thing will become abundantly clear. Tons of smiles. I’m not the only one enjoying what I do. The guys at ELM are passionate creatives and they make everyone on and off set feel like family. I love that about them. I also think they produce a kick ass final product.

Please check out the trailer for their documentary (HERE) and while there’s time left in their funding campaign (7 days)…I hope you’ll consider donating.

“They banged doors, they shouted Trick or Treat and their brown paper bags began to fill with incredible sweets. They galloped with their teeth glued shut with pink gum. They ran with red wax lips bedazzling their faces. But all the people who met them at doors looked like candy factory duplicates of their own mothers and fathers. It was like never leaving home. Too much kindness flashed from every window and every portal. What they wanted was to hear dragons belch in basements and banged castle doors.”

Let the Light In...

It was late morning.

I had a shoot earlier in the day and I was running around…settling in, charging up for the next one.

As I turned the corner to head down into the basement and sync up with the family…

…this frame caught my eye.

And I sat down immediately on the top step.

Put my cup coffee down.

Rested my arms by my side.

And just soaked in the scene.

Doing so, opened up my ears to my surroundings.

The sound of the TV below.

The kids chatting, then sparring off about this or that.

The hum of the refrigerator alongside me.

Finn wagging his tail behind me.

The warm of the floor beneath me.

The comfort of home.

And a sudden feeling of appreciation for all those things simultaneously,

Simply by pausing.

I smiled.

I took this frame.

I made a mental note.

Let the light in…
